Hi, I have this weird problem with the cone filter. When i run the stock box i have full power. When i put the cone filter on (not full intake just cone with adaptor) if i press it in anymore than a quarter it lags to the extreme and will not move up in rpms any until i let off the gas and press it no more than a quarter in. Its just with the cone filter. This is weird and i searched around and didnt see too many people who had problems with cone filters and if they did not near my problem. I can stomp it full throttle and the cars rpms stand still and the car dosnt go! Well if you know anythign about this problem or what other problem that can cause this to happen please help me out. Thanks in advance

I know exactly what your problem is, because I had the exact same problem back in the day.

Most of the cheap MAF adapters for our cars are universal ones, and are not made specifically for a 240SX. Look at your adapter, the opening is probably a different size than the hole in the MAF. Because the size of the hole changes suddenly, you get some really weird turbulence, and the MAF doesn't read the air correctly. I have an air/fuel ratio meter, and when I first installed a cheap adapter, when I got on it, it would bog down and run so lean it was off the gauge. Basically, you want the air going into the MAF to be as smooth as possible to get a good reading.

If the holes are different size, get a different adapter and your problem will go away.

Ok i figured it out. I had the cone filter just hanging down and not supported i guess it was causing big time turbulance. fixed it and bam works perfect. Im not sure if it was because it was hanging or teh maf wire was moving to much but whatever its working lol
