Problem with Vehicle security system

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Last night was a bad... At 4h00 AM my EX started horning and lights blinking like if someone hit the panic button on the I-key or if a door was forced.I went to the car and everything was normal.It happened again 30 minutes later so I decided to let the car unarmed.So there is likely a door/trunk switch malfunction.Is there any mean to disable the VSS (and keep the doors locked) ? My Infiniti dealer is at two hours drive from my home and we're on Saturday anyway and my neighbors are about to kill me.. .

I can take the anti-theft horn fuse out.

Thanks

1. Did you check all of your keys are in safe place? Had mine go off in my wife's purse.

2. Have you notice information center giving you doors open sign when you are driving? Door sensors can go bad sending false open signal to the computer while security is on.

3. Is your battery connection good?

4. if all above checks out and not the reason for alarm going off, visit dealer.

Yes

No

3. Is your battery connection good?

Should be..

4. if all above checks out and not the reason for alarm going off, visit dealer.

By the way while driving later today I got 3 alarm lights:

- check engine;

- brake;

- battery;

So I really need to visit the dealer...

Thanks

possible, alternator failure.. some alarms use current draw to sound alarm which may explain the alarm going off.

Usually you will get an abundance of lights when the alternator is not working (was the case for me on my maxima), check voltage with car off then on. usully between 11.6-12.1 with car off and 13.8-14.4 with car on.

Could be a main fuse issue and or relay as well since i believe we have some type of premature battery drain prevention system, (shuts off most of the non essential circuits to prevent a dead battery)

then its most likely battery connection problem or the alternator malfunctioning, when you have bad connection while driving, those lights intend to come on, check with dealer they might get you a new battery and ask you to drive for a while to see if the problem occurs again.

I sympathize with your issue, this is a hard one to diagnose (usually) and much harder to live near an angry car.

Since you CEL has come on I would suspect something like low battery voltage or something similar to that (hopefully). Failure of an alternator is extremely unlikely, they are very well built and controlled. Sadly there is no way to easily disable the alarm its integrated into many control/led circuits and if it is not working the car will not start.

Definitely check your keys- I have actually had one that got wet and corroded the IC connections and it required replacement.

You might want to have the battery checked. If the Combination Meter lights go out than a battery would be strong suspect.

Lastly has anything happened to the car recently? Repairs? Accidents? Extreme Weather?

Finally I got the diagnostic: The alarm was triggered by the hood switch. It had been damaged by water infiltration.

My dealer said that the problem with the abundant alarm lights was caused by the fact I removed the horn fuses. However I can't understand the relationship between the horn fuses and the alarm lights....

Interesting...but understandable. By winter infiltration do you mean snow, ice and salt debris? I'm seeing a layer of ice building up and raising the hood level enough to trigger the lock sensor.

The horn relay (depending on which one you pulled) will cause a ripple effect through other systems as they are multiplexed and control several things, there are no longer many dedicated fueses except those that control high current circuits (headlights, fans, ect)
