problem with tripometer

i have a little problem with my tripometer... or i think thats whats its called... the thing that you can reset to know how many miles youve driven... thats called a tripometer right ?

k... well whenever i push the reset button... it doesnt reset all the way... itll leave me like at 000.6 or like 004.0... its never fully all zeros... hope someone can help me... thanks in advance

hmmm... sounds like ur tripometer (not sure what the h£ll it's called) have a bad spring... i'd run to the junkyard (heaven if there are 240's there) and pick out a gauge cluster and swap the components and ur done. But fixing it would be a pain in the Äss.

Yeah, getting to the instrument cluster is a pain in the *** on the S13, but once you get it out, it is pretty easy to take apart. Maybe you could check it out before having to find a used one with the incorrect mileage on it.

is there a way to fix the bad spring ?... something i should fiddle with or nah... incase i mess up the whole cluster ? damn thing... i reset my miles today bc i got gas... 1.99 for regular !... i paid $10 and only got 5 gallons !... wth =(... im only gonna go about 100 miles before i have to fill up again... i think i get about 10 mpg... what about you guys ?

anyways... is it possible to try to fix by hand or just forget about it ?

agh, i have the same problem, but don't want to take the cluster apart.

my 1st and last #s would reset to 0 when i push it in... i think it's more of the plastic gears than the spring.
