problem with trans

hey guyswhen i drive and then get ready to stop...i clutch in and try to put my shifter to neutral from 5th gear but it gets stuck....or feels like sumthings holding it in....wat could be the problem? it only happens on 5th gear

As I remember this happens when the synchronizers get bad. I might be wrong as it's been some time I used a MT last time.
