So I'm installing the Greddy V-Spec intercooler kit and the one pipe that is on the hot side has a bung on it for the stock recirculating valve. I am running a different BOV. What did you guys use to block off that outlet? BTW, it's 1.25 inches OD.

lol, funny thing about that. I have that FMIC kit as well. When I had my SR installed at a shop they just taped over it and forgot to tell me that. A few weeks later when i was in high boost that tape came off and all went to ****. So to make a long story short. I took the car to SGP Racing in Houston and they welded the hole close. You can tape over it TEMP. ONLY!.

Awww. I know you guys have encountered this. I'm thinking about using a peice of radiator hose (because it seems to fit nicely around that bung) and then plugging the hose with something. Any ideas? A wooden hammer handle? lol

you can go to your local lowes and get a plumbing fitting to go over it to cap it off, I would suggest welding it up , fittings can always come off

Go to autozone or some other automotive store. I bought like an expansion plug. It is a cylinder shaped piece of rubber with a metal plate on each side and a bolt down the middle. When you tighten the bolt, the two metal plates get pulled closer together, sqeezing the rubber inbetween, making it expand and get stuck in the hole. Be sure to buy the right size. I forgot, but I think it costed me about 3 dollars.

you want even belive this.

Go to walmart. Buy the 1" rubber feet that go on chair legs. Lubricate the pipe, slide the rubber foot on, secure with hoseclamp.

I am using the Lowe's plumber's pipe cap right now, but it is a little too big (1.5") so I had to sinch down the clamp pretty tight.

I took mine to a local welding and fabricatoin shop. $10 later it was cut off and a piece was welded in its place. I just was not sure about using a cap.

The type of plug I used was made for blocking off water pipes and such. If it can block off water, then it can definitely block off air.

Im sure that works but the logic is bad...air is definately harder to block than water.

Mine was the same way....some poeple say they dont have it there and some do...mine already had a flange sticking out of the hole for a GReddy BOV (type S or Type R) so we chopped it off and welded on the new flange for my HKS SSQV. No sense in welding it closed and making another hole elsewhere for the BOV....i really wanted my avlev right by the TB but o well.... I THINK ITS PRETTY BADASS THERE WHERE IT IS...of ccourse it would be a little more effective and louder by the TB but win some loose some ;)

I tried mounting my stock one there, but it pokes the fender liner out and makes it rub on the tire so I capped it. If my I/c fit had the greddy flange I would have put my typeS bov there, but it was just an extension without a flange so capped it is.

well, I just got back here after a few days and while I was gone I stumbled accross the radiator hose thing as well. However, the only thing I could find to fit in the hose in my garage that would fit was (get this) a golf ball and a hose clamp. It's held to 10psi, but I'm gonna go get that freeze plug.

P.S. I'll post pics of Hot Import Nights from last night soon.

And I thought I was the only one that did that haha. I love rubber feet. Ive got multiple sizes at home cuz my mom bought alot to stick everywhere so that we dont hurt the flooring from chairs and tables.

Cost me all of about $20 at a local metal shop to have the recirc flange (if you want to call it that?) cut off and have a plate welded over the hole.

Drove the car in, chilled and read a magazine for about 30 minutes, they did everything (removed it from the car, cut/welded, re-installed it)

It's the recirc from the PCV valve.
