I have an 1988 hardbody thats has 221k miles on it. The previous owner replaced the head, water pump, and radiator. I have had the truck for a couple months now and just a couple of days ago the truck starting acting weird. It loose all power when going up a hill or in reverse. So I replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap, ignition rotor, and spark plug wires. The truck still drives like it has no problems. Then I replaced the vacuum lines. Then truck will not start unless the gas pedal is the entire way to the floor, but as soon as you let of the gas its cuts off and sometimes wont start back up. And it sounds like it is not running off all the cylinders.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else I can do or what could be the problem?

Well if it started really acting up when you replaced the vac lines I would start there and make sure everything is routed properly.

Vac lines are easy check but with that many miles and new head maybe head gasket is blown or leaking, run a compression test and also check all 4 plugs if it sounds like one cylinder is not firing right. May have lost fire to one cylinder.

Well there were 2 vacuum lines I had switched so now the truck starts and drives. But it still loses power when you go up a hill even with pedal the entire way to the floor

Compression test may be the key, if you have one or more cylinders low it is not going to make power under a load like climbing up steep roads.

So I just finished a compression test and all 4 cylinders are between 178-182... :wtf2:
my only other guess is a timing issue but i cant find my timing light :gotme

It could be a problem with you injection. It might be a throttle position sensor or an idle circuit. Or timing good luck though
