ive got a 91 coupe and the antenna is broken. everytime i turn my radio on i hear a creaking sound from the motor because its trying to push the antenna up but it is jammed. is it easy to just take out the motor cause i dont really care much for it. if i do this will my antenna still work?

There's a flexible plastic cable with gear teeth on it that tends to break. You can go to Autozone or someplace and get a replacement mast; the one they sell for Chrysler antennas also works but you only use the plastic cable from it, not the metal rod part. I did this with mine.

If you just want to disable the power antenna and leave it up all the time, cut the two wires that lead into the motor and tape them to prevent shorts. Or you could get a replacement standard antenna.
