I installed the DC Sports front strut bar today. The problem is that since I have the Nismo motor mounts, I think the engine is sitting too high that the bar is hitting the motor. The car handles great, since I also have new AGXs, Sportlines, and Energy bushings, but the car is vibrating like crazy when the car is gear and idling. Any suggestions? Am I going to have to go with another bar? If so, which sits higher than the DC Sports? I was leaning towards the Tanabe struts 2ndly.

you could put some washers under the mounts? that would space it up a bit. most 350z owners that have a plenum spacer and stock strut bar have to do that. just a suggestion.

I was thinking the same thing. But, is that safe? I mean, doesn't that put more stress on the strut screws?

i don't think it would make a difference at all. i have a handful of people i know that do that on the Z and one guy that does that on his 240. should be fine those are very large bolts.

can you see that it is rubbing on the engine? does it just do it when it is in gear? my dc sport strut bar is close the the valve cover but is not rubbing. I did not use any washers or anything either, I am using hardrace MMs.

If U have an RB setup, it may be sitting lower than my KA. However...

I took the bar off and saw a chip where the motor met the bar. I added 2mm washers on all the studs and the hitting/vibrating is GONE! Woo Hoo!!! No more flexing!

Up next; Tanabe front sway bar and DC Sports rear strut bar!

IIRC if you flip the nismo mounts around the motor sits lower. Either switching sides or flipping over, don't remember. I might be way off though.

Washers are a much easier solution though.
