problem with stereo and car starting

I installed a stereo in my 08 versa over the summer, and I couldn't get the ACC power wire to work (the cyan one?). Every time I hooked it up to the head unit, the unit would not power on, so I just connected it to the 12v+ power wire. This means I have to power the unit off every time I turn the car off.

Well, the last 2 times I've gone to start my car, the I turn the key, and the engine doesn't start. I have to do it a second time to get the engine to turn over.

This car has 4700 miles on it, almost brand new, and I don't know what to do.

First, how can I get my engine to turn over on the first time (or is it just a fluke?)

And second, how do I CORRECTLY wire up my headunit so that it turns off automatically whenever I turn my car off?

Welcome to the forum! I can't help you with the stereo, but your starting issue (assuming the engine is actually cranking), is likely the infamous fuel pump problem, and should be covered under warranty. If the engine is not cranking, there could me a multitude of causes; all of them under warranty, assuming you havn't done anything to your car that would have voided your warranty (I doubt a stereo installation had anything to do with this).

I haven't done anything except install the stereo.

The car starts the second time i try to start the engine, but not the first time... I just want to take care of my baby and anything wrong with her I want to fix ASAP!

idk about the starting issue, but the stereo doesnt turn off with the switch because u connected it directly to the battery... find the wire that has electricity only when the switch is on and attach the acc wire to it... i cant remember the color cuz i did mine too long ago, but i think that unlikely to regular cars, it is yellow!! ...... hope it helps....

i believe (i did it awhile ago) that the 12V is BROWN, and the ignition wire is CYAN but the CYAN one doesn't work, is there something else i can tap into?

i would keep trying all the wires, there has to be one that works.... if not you are gonna have to start going for the handbrake (as if u were legally installing a dvd), lights switch, or something like that..... but i think its too much work just to not turn the stereo off when u turn off the car lol....
