Hello everyone.
My mother drives a 2002 2.5 Auto sedan and she is now having starting issues. Whether it is hot or cold out, the car won't always start.
My mother had an Alternator replaced about a year ago and this problem started about 1 month ago. If she starts the car and immediately give it some gas, it will start. But if she starts the car and don't give it gas right away, the car will stall, then it will have to be jumped. At this point the car still cranks, but as she keeps trying, it seems like the turning over gets weaker and weaker and it struggles to try and crank.
I have checked the battery. Off, the battery puts out 12.+ volts. When started, the battery has 14.+ volts. If we turn on the heat/AC the battery maintains 14.+ volts.
Even with the car struggling to start, the car does still get full power (windows, AC, radio, etc. all still works).
I am not sure what brand alternator was replaced, so I can't be much help there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
P.S.
I tried the search function in case this problem has already been discussed and I can't find the Altima forum in the search section.
