problem with speedo?

i have a 90 coupe with the hud and when i start it up when it's cold the speedometer reads out a number. as the car warms up the number gets lower and after i start driving it goes away. does anyone know what is wrong with it?

Now I know how you guys feel, threads gets repeated like everyday hahaha well try using search button, maybe it'd help. You from philly too eh? well HUD have the tendency to malfunction alot, kinda expensive to fix too, im glad I got regular analog. Although it needs a lil bit calibration but who cares, its only about 5-8 miles above correct mileage.
