Problem with SOHC to DOHC check engine light...

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I bought another 240sx and the motor was blown and i got a KA24de DOHC for free. So i decided to throw that motor in. The harness was swapped with a DOHC harness, and Body harness was connected with the five important colors. When i got to "giving it a whirl" the Check engine light stayed on, and the motor ran great. The problem is came when i turned off the car. The check engine light stayed on. The light stays on even when i take the key out. I have to disconnect the battery to get the engine light turned off. My fuel light is the same way, and i just put gas in. I noticed when i have my headlights on and i use the turn signal the cluster dims. My ecu has no codes also if that helps... I'm sorry if i dont make sense its 11pm and i've been up since 4am.. working stiff.

u need a gauge cluster from a 91 to 93

Do i have to change the harness in the dash too?

nope, the cluster switches out with no issues.

As much as i wanted to solve this problem i took my 91 cluster out and put it in my 89 and no dice.. i still have the engine light and my fuel is still on.. i checked my wiring and everything is good to go.. any other thoughts...

Anything else potentially pertaining to the swap/issue? Like any parts used from the sohc? sohc maf maybe? I really can't think of any reason it would stay on like that... So, any more info may help. Which ECU are you running? I'm sure its already driving you crazy, but if you can think of anything like that...

Well i used all my DOHC stuff off my 91 240sx. I used the motor, engine harness, ECU, and Cluster for now. When i did the swap everything on the harness plugged right in and no issues. I checked all my grounds and everything is great. I checked all my hot wires to make sure they werent shorted. All my wired are rechecked and double checked.. The ECU i'm using is 24 and ECU Code A11-B44-G07

My engine light and fuel light continue to stay on when i pull the key out.. yeah its driving me crazy...
