hooked up the safc2 a bit ago and setting it up.There is no RPM signal or Knock singal.Everything hooked up right its like my 10th safc2 hook up,but my first on a 240sx w/sr20det motor and the ECU62 is the one that came with the sr20.Jay over at Augusta Customs did the swap.Sooo I have a few questions.1.Can the car run with out a RPM and Knock signal going to the ECU?2.Where does the RPM signal come from on the engine and if possible the wire color?

The car runs great and strong pullin bish!So if the ECU doesnt need them two signals, seems as though it dont, I will run those to signals directly to the SAFC2 so I can start using it until I get it to Dyno. Thanks Spotteddawg

I have EXACTLY the same problem.. I know I hooked it upto the tach wire like I was supposed to but I don't get a RPM signal in my SAFC.. I think it might be a transmission sensor issue??

You guys can pick up the tach signal right from the cas. i think it's the white wire. double check that. i did it, worked fine. as far as the knock signal... i'm not sure what to tell you... i don't think you need the knock sensor to dial in the afc but you NEED the tach signal... hope this helps.

Thanks HP..Will the car run without a knock signal to the ECU? I always thought it was a safty issue, but on my local 240 site one guy is saying the car would run like crap if it doesnt recieve a signal. And the car runs great and I havent seen any or felt any problems.Spotteddawg

That did it.I traced the white wire back to the ECU from CAS and soldered that to the green on the AFC and I got signal.Wierd thing now is I also have knock signal?!!!?Maybe them to(RPM and KNOCK)depend on one another in the SAFC2Anyway thanks HP.Spotteddawg

mallbor240SR, how much modding was involved in putting the J30 VLSD in your car? what was needed to do the work or was it just an unbolt old and bolt new one in? thanks Spotteddawg

thanks for sharing that info.as for the j30 lsd, i swaped the differential cover cause my car is an s13, also i bought an ABS driveshaft, and since my diff came with out the front bushings i got a pair of bushing for a z32 differential at projectnissan.com, and you will also need longer bolts for the front bushings.
