What does the FSM say the torque spec is?

It's off center and the edge of the keeper is bending up on the edge of the rocker shaft... I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be or not.

If it keeps doing that, just torque the bolt to spec, then bend the keeper back so it keeps the rocker arm centered over the lobe and valve.

dont trust your buddys specs man..most mistake (inch pounds) and (foot pounds)..there is a huge difference..i know for fact the ka24de head is inch pounds not foot pounds..so to give ya an idea..30 inch pounds is like 4-1/2 foot pounds..sumpin like that..its a huge difference..so to save your self some trouble..but the repair manual and read a bit..good luck.

I haven't had any problems like that on my e but it is inch pounds, and without looking at the manual i think it is somewhere between 17-30 and you need to sequence it. I reccomend spending the 20 and getting the chiltons, but if I get around to getting into my car I will post it for you

I really hope you are talking about the cam retainers in inch pounds. Also 30 inch pounds is 2 1/1 ft. lbs. OP- Those torque down to 30 inch pounds. The reason it bent up is because it caught on the edge of the rocker. Just bend it down with a pair of pliers so it barely touches the rocker shaft and doesn't come in contact with the rocker. If you have feeler gauges stick the .010 in and bend away.
