Hey guys....

Problem with my keyless entry... 1994 240sx

When I press LOCK, nothing happens.

When I press unlock, it unlocks, then immediately locks again.

I did some reading and it appeared to be the door lock timer.. replaced this, and no change. I used a volt meter to check continuity from the orange/black wire on the door lock timer back to the door harness, and it looked OK. I did the same to the big black wire, and it also tested okay.

What else should I be checking for?

My S13 does this once in a while, but I have a cheap alarm system.
My passenger side door doesn't like to unlock if you pull the lever from the inside, and I'm not sure if the issues are related, but I've been meaning to open that door and check the measurements on the plastic bushings for the little linkages inside.

It's not related I don't think.

The drivers door lock is also the switch to unlock both doors, so that leads me to believe the switch is bad.... although the actuator itself works perfectly fine.

If you find out let me know. Mine will lock, but when I unlock it immediately locks back. I have an aftermarket alarm.

Mine started doing it after I did the 5 spd conversion.

Though the last I remember the Verts are base models and the driver's lock isn't connected to the passenger door lock, it was done with the alarm.

My autotech at geek squad and I determined that the problem was past the door harness and most likely a bad actuator. Mine worked after manual swap.

Door lock timer is a small black box hidden behind the ecu.

My issue and your issue is the same. If you hit lock nothing happens right? And unlock opens the door then it immediately locks again? This means there is a break in that orange and black wire somewhere. I suspect its at the center console where the auto trans harnesses got unplugged...Im gonna look into that.

Seems the same. Believe mine will lock with the lock button though, just doesn't unlock.

So its the orange/black wire from the lock timer then? Does it run to the doors after going to the center?

Correct, the orange/black wire goes to the drivers door, all the way over to the door lock timer. Passenger, probably not because the orange/black is just the power lock sender.

Ok, guess I'll have to try to trace it sometime.
