Yesterday I got my ecu socketed and installed a chip that I had bought off an individual on 3zc. It was supposed to be a copy of the Emance chip, which is essentially the ebay chip. The issue that I am having is the car will start up fine and run perfect for about 30 seconds, then its like someone turned the key off. I checked the codes and its giving me a code 11 which is for the cas. But I highly doubt the cas went bad the exact same time I switched my chip because it ran perfectly fine before the socket was installed. I'm just curious if anybody has any idea what could be wrong other than the chip being messed up since it was a copy of a cheap tune. I'm going to be ordering a chip from z1 in the next few days regardless, but I just want some opinions. The car is 90 n/a 5 speed by the way.

Cheap chip = Cheap tune = little to no driveability

Good luck with the Z1 chip.

:bigthumb: and welcome back to Nico!

You should put the stock chip back in to rule out a chip problem first.

Well I got the z1 chip in the mail, installed it, and still the same thing. Runs for approx. 30 seconds perfectly, then its as if the key is turned off. The only thing I can really think is that either the computer itself has an issue, or the cas did somehow magically mess up between switching chips. I've lined up another ecu here in a few days, and I can also get a cas off of a parts car locally to test also. Hopefully one or the other will fix it.

This is a prime example on why you don't cheap out on crucial parts. I paid Ash $150 to prevent anything like this from happening. I could have easily got a eBay chip for $40, but i would have faced the risk of having this happen to me. If you own a Z32, don't cheap out on parts. You have to pay to play. Just my .02

Believe me, I won't be buying cheap stuff again. I'm just gonna get the car running again and leave it be. Not taking another chance because honestly it sucks just looking out the window seeing it set in the driveway.

Just an update, I got a hold of another ecu and put it in the car and the problem is gone now. So somewhere in the socketing process it got messed up somehow. Glad to have the car back finally. Thanks for the suggestions guys!!
