i got a good deal on some 17 in g-racing seiki(sp) wheels, the problem is it doesnt look like this , yet.... lol thats some photo shop droppage. anyway im looking for springs, i have about 4inches between the front fender and tire, and about 3 inches between the rear fender and tire. are sport lines the only springs that will give me a 2inch drop in the front? is there anyway i can get more with just springs alone? I was thinking Tein S techs, but those only give me 1.5. for that i might as well go with megan springs which give me a 1.7 all around, I know what your thinking, but Ive heard nothing but good things about megan racing in general. blah 1.7 isnt enough.. sigh

before anyone says it I did search, couldnt find anything.. all that i could find was info on coilover set ups, eibachs and teins... bah this is what it looks like right now, ewwww.. must drop it asap, those are the tires it came with they are 205/40/17 all around, the ones in the back are almost bald(sp) maybe taller tires would help eat up some of the gap? a 45 or a 50? they are 17 X 7, anyone know if i can fit 225s on there, i want something a bit beefier then 205s..

All I am going to say is that I hope you are looking for more than just a drop. If that is all that you care about and don't care about handling or feel, just break out the ruler and cutting torch. Cut the stock springs. However, I do hope that you decide to put some thought into it and do some research and find a quality setup that will give you the look you lust for and the functionality that makes these cars fun.

If you're looking for that much drop and still retain fuctionality, go with some good coilovers. when you use that much lowering spring, your going to blow shocks.

I am just looking for a drop right now, that doesn't mean I'm going to make the car ride like $hit by cutting springs lol. I agree these cars are fun, even stock its a blast to drive, but I dont have the money for an expensive coilovers or an SR swap right now. Once I finish with my degree and start making money I plan on using it for auto-x. I only bought the wheels because I got a deal on em, wheels w/ tires + locks for 200 beans, even came with some spacers I didnt use, couldnt pass it up.

So theres no way of getting that drop without coilovers? Are there any other springs that will lower the car more then eibach sportlines that are at least semi name brand?...I dont want any drop zone, or any of those other $70 BIN springs floating on eBay..

maybe a 205/50/17, or at least a 205/45

it would look better with beefier tires too

and for the springs look into maybe like h&r or whiteline or something, trust me you dont need that nearly as much of a drop as you think to get good looking wheel gap

Get some Sportlines/GR2s to replace the old shocks/struts...they should be a good enough drop unless you want to scrape your cornhole on speed bumps. Either that or just get a set of cheap coilovers.btw, that is a sexy coupe...I'm diggin' the color.

1.5" drop, even 2" will look somewhat stockish. just invest in some decent coilovers. the amount you spend on springs/shocks and plus you'll probably need camber adjustment, front&rear too since you're looking for +2 or more drop. maybe even toe rods too. price would be somewhat similar in the end.

but either way, sportline springs has horrid ride quality, too bouncy for springs.

sportlines will kill the gr2s in a few months. The AGXs are worth the extra money. I had sportlines and agxs on my car till I just stepped up to silkroad RM/A8 coilovers.

thanks for the replies, coilovers are pretty much outta the question, the word alone implies more then 600 bucks which i cant swing right now. I'm going to look into getting some beefier tires and i'll see how much gap I need to take up from there. so sportlines are no good? ergh what about tein S-techs?

I got S-Tech/AGX on my car and it just looks like a stock car rather than a car sans motor. I'll put up a pic if you want (just washed and waxed even though its about to rain crazily).

My suggestion would be to get yourself some coilovers. Ride will be MUCH better than spring/shock combo. If you don't have a ton of money, look around for some lightly used coilovers. I constantly see them for under $500. Good luck.

I have the Sportlines/AGX combo on my car. I've beaten them senseless for a few years now and just recently, the shocks are going. The ride still isn't all that bad.

Here's how your fender gap will look with 215/45/17s and the Sportlines/AGX setup.

Hope this helps.

Ebay cheapi coilovers will do the job. however, i would recommend saving up some money and doing it right...Tein HE's or HR's.
