Problem with my RB20det high compression motor

Well im asking for help with my rb20det high compression motor i jus put it together myself, i could start the car with the Maf unplugged but when i plug it back in as soon as it starts it shuts down when i give any type of throttle. No lines are loss on the vaccums or the intercooler. but i do have a blown turbo gasket under my turbo. would this be causing that shut down? the car is timed perfectly and everything else is up to standard. Does anybody have any ideas? let me kno wat you think thanx

Bad maf, maf facing the wrong way, bad wiring to the maf. Volt meter and start checking s*** out.

Sounds like a BAD maf to start. Normally if it runs ok without it, then not with it, thats one place to start.

Could be a bad TPS also.

You need to check the computer, see what its seeing.

ight well i jus rewired the maf and ecu but is looking like the maf, but these mafs i using dont work in my skyline but installed in my next skyline they work fine, so idk wtf the deal is i thinkin i may need a bigger maf any body agree? if not let me know wat yah think again thanx for the help thus far doe.

well if the maf worked on another car fine then it wouldnt be trhe maf...if u rewired it did u rewire it corectly?? is the voltage getting to the ecu???

well yeh all wires were re-done properly but i also got the idea that maybe my maf cant handle the air passing through it and i need to upgrade to a z32 or q45 maf. What does anybody think of that? it really is my last option really idk wat else to do with the car, and its depressing because i could see the power would be great off the low rev i getting without the maf, but i really want to feel the power of it on boost. smt

How do u know wires were re done properly? If u take the maf from your car and put it into another car and it runs then the maf isn't bad. It's the wiring or the computer. Did u check the engine codes the ecu is throwing? If not you will just be wasting money on a Z32 or Q45 maf since u have to reprogram the ecu for it anyway.

For the re-wire work i did it my self that str8 i know that but the z32 or q45 i could get to work because i have an apexi afc in the car i could set it from there and thats final but as for ecu's i swapped through my spare (good) ecu's and it still isnt answering so i really feel its still maf related, nad not wirein and ecu's. I found a bro of mine who has a Z32 and plug for it he'll let me use it to test and see whats wat. I'll make sure let everyone know how it went.
