problem with my car, please help

I bought this 95 240sx 5 speed for 2200 with 175K on it, everything is in good shape except a few problems, here are some problems i have.

1. engine clicking/ticking when the car is idle, valve or fan bearing?2. rough idle, idle is normal after your start the car, it jumps a little if you turn your steering wheel between 400~900(is this normal?). also after you run for a while, when you stop the car, rpm jumps again around 400~900. after jumping for like 5 second, it stops around 600 and stays there.3.when i crusing , everything seem fine, but when i go over 3000 rpm, rpm jumps a LOT, jump between 2500~7000, just jump like crazy, but the weird thing is i dont feel any difference in the engine, sometimes needles goes back to where it suppose to be for awhile and starts jumping again......4. when i am driving, if i step on the clutch, RPM goes down to to 100 or 200 sometimes almost zero, but car doesnt stall, and if i shift to netural, it stays around 600 and not moving....

can someone please help me with this RPM problem......thanx a lot

my fan also makes a clicking/ticking noise at idle although i just started noticing this since i got my car back from the nissan dealership on thurseday. i dont really notice the RPMs jumping when the steering wheel is turned but i do kno it does this on my mother's windstar and my friend's ZX3. i believe a lot of ur problems are with the idle settings, go to the 240/silvia technical section and i think there is a sticky for all the different idle adjusters. at 175k miles its always a good thing to do a tune up since you dont kno when the last one was. heres a thread with what a member did on his tune-up of his 90' 240: http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....+idle very useful information.

sounds like your car has 175k miles on it and it runs fine with the exception of a messed up tach.

what have u done so far? did u try the sticky in the technical section that explains how to adjust idle?

the section about adjust the idle is for S13 only, it doesnt apply for S14.....

if the section is about the ka24de, its the same engine you have.....bound to be the same to my knowledge

yep, its all the same, the only real difference with the S13's intake is the thing they have coming from the exhaust (cant think of name right now) but thats not part of the idle adjustment.
