Problem with my 98 ka24de

hi guys this is the story just got the car (s13) from some kid it has a 98 ka24de swap he said that the timing was off so there for the car wouldn't start so i set the car on timing and then the distributor wouldn't give spark so i replace the distributor and put the engine on tdc and now the car starts but it sputters at low rpm's like 500 to 1200rpm and after that is fine but if i let go of the gas is start reving bout 500 to 0 back and forth until it eventually shuts off NEED HELP PLZ.
