problem with my 95 240sx, please help...

I bought this 95 240sx 5 speed for 2200 with 175K on it, everything is in good shape except a few problems, here are some problems i have.

1. engine clicking/ticking when the car is idle, valve or fan bearing?2. rough idle, idle is normal after your start the car, it jumps a little if you turn your steering wheel between 400~900(is this normal?). also after you run for a while, when you stop the car, rpm jumps again around 400~900. after jumping for like 5 second, it stops around 600 and stays there.3.when i crusing , everything seem fine, but when i go over 3000 rpm, rpm jumps a LOT, jump between 2500~7000, just jump like crazy, but the weird thing is i dont feel any difference in the engine, sometimes needles goes back to where it suppose to be for awhile and starts jumping again......4. when i am driving, if i step on the clutch, RPM goes down to to 100 or 200 sometimes almost zero, but car doesnt stall, and if i shift to netural, it stays around 600 and not moving....

can someone please help me with this RPM problem......thanx a lot

Are you getting any Code? With that amount of miles first thing that you should do is get it tuned up. Change what needs to be change such as spark plug and wires, Cap and rotor , Oil change, do a search on Seafoam (it worked for me) but careful with this, you might get some oil leak. Start with the basic.

no oil leak, rotors look good, change spark plug myself and wires are ok, only problem i have are idel problem, knocking and rpm jumping thing, someone please help......hope they can be fixed after i put in fuel system cleaner and fuel injection cleaner

Check your timing. Make sure your not to advance. 20* is the factory spec I believe... If your not sure when was the last time the rotor and cap has been change it is best to replace it. Check for any vacumm leak. Try to solve the problem by process of elimination. Start with the cheapest and easy parts....Not unless someone realy knows what is wrong with your car....good luck

at 175K, I'm guessing the chain might be the culprit here, they tend to make noise at that high of mileage.

The idle issue can generally be fixed by pulling off the idle air control valve and cleaning the carbon out of the tapered seat valve that is inside.

The RPM change sounds like a slipping clutch from your description.

forgot to say, when RPM jumps, engine and speed doesnt change, everything is normal exept for the jumping needle, mabye a bad tacodemeter ? but rough idle is still a problem. where and what is idle air control valve? how do i clean it?
