Post

I've been archiving all of my music and downloading some authorized zipped mp3 files recently. A couple of days ago my mp3 files just disappeared and I can't unzip compressed mp3 files (I get an "unidentified error" message. I've tried both i-tunes and windows media player.

I can play mp3 music cds, but I can't save the music as song files. Other formats (wav, win media file, etc.) all seem to be fine. The system should still be recognizing the files; the box for mp3 is still checked within the "files recognized" area along with the other file types.

Questions:

Any ideas what's going on here? Any ideas on finding where the problem is?

Is this something that System Restore would fix? I can revert to a time everything was still working properly.
