I just installed my Sony CDX GT710 into my 07 Nissan Versa. The deck lights up, the radio works and there is sound from all the speakers. However when I go to put in a CD, the motorized faceplate doesn't open when I go to push the eject button. Something sounds like it wants to move then there are three beeps. I tried resetting it as well. What could be wrong?

There was one harness in the Versa that didn't connect to the new receiver (or I'm not sure where it connects, and there was a ATT wire, an AMP wire, and an illumination wire that aren't connected, but I dont think those are the problems.)

Any ideas?

Where did you buy it from? Sounds like a bad unit out of the box.

ah, i was hoping that wasn't the case. i bought it from sonicelectronix.com

If that is the case it'll be a month since i originally ordered it until I have it installed since I live in Canada. I will probably send it to the Sony repair centre in Toronto if it is a bad unit.

Any other ideas?

About the only other thing that I can think of is to completely unplug it and plug it back in to see if it works. If that doesn't work then your going to have to send it out to have it fixed. This is one of the reasons that I advocate buying from a dealer because if ti's broke they will take care of it and you'll probably never even know that there was a problem in the first place.

Yeah, a lot of manufactures will not warranty merchandise purchased from a internet site. JL Audio, for example, will charge full repair amount no matter how new it is. I try to explain this very thing to customers that come into my store with internet purchased equipment.
