I outfitted my my '02 sentra SE-R spec v with an HID kit for the headlights & fog lights.I have a set of high/low beam telescopic bulbs with 55w DDM ballasts running on a harness connected to battery. For the fogs 35w ballasts by Xentec. I have no problem with the fog kit but the headlight kit has been giving me problems since day one.

Upon turning them on only one comes on (usually the left one), sometimes none, rarely both unless they've been on for awhile. In order to fire up the one that isn't working I have to light a match to it. Just kidding. I have to turn them on and off at least 3 times.

I decided to swap ballasts and use the ones that were running the fogs(Xentec 35w). They worked beautifully! Both lights came on every time. Then plugged in the 55w DDM ballasts to the fogs. Also worked beautifully. All systems nominal for about two weeks untill the headlights did not come on at all.

Has anyone else had this issue? Could there be an electrical problem within the vehicle? They did stop working when I was driving through heavy rain. For practical use I like HID lights and would like to resolve this issue. Any help will be much obliged.

Have you tried contacting DDM? I have a set, and they've been nothing but great with support.

I have been going back & forth with DDM for quite some time. Not happy with their customer service. Under staffed & very dismissive over the phone but thats a whole nother story. I recently decided to contact them again because the parts were under warranty. They're sending me a new harness so we'll see what happens. If problem persists I know an electrical engineer who will diagnose it. Thought I'd first post on here in case it's a common problem. Thanks anyway.

Post up the results, DDM is a pretty commonly used kit.
