So here is what's been happening. I recently bought a Nismo FPR type B with the adapter and a fuel pressure gauge. I installed them today and this is what is happening.

When I put the car on the on mode, the gauge tells me that the fuel pressure is above 60. My gauge only goes up to 60. When i start the car, the fuel pressure gauge starts to go crazy! So I figured, maybe the pressure was soo high that the gauge couldn't take the pressure. So I quickly turn the pressure down and goes down to like 25 psi. At this point, the car wants to turn off since it's not getting enough fuel. I try to turn the pressure up to the stock 36psi but right before it reaches 30 the gauge starts to go crazy again! I have no idea whats wrong with it so I thought maybe someone in here could help me out with this problem.

Can anyone help?

Ok here are two pictures and a video of what it looks like.

Looks to me like you have the fuel pressure regulator on the feed line and the gauge on the return line. The FPR needs to be on the return line and the gauge on the feed line.

it's gotta be plumbed backwards.. I'd assume it's not running since it can't get much fuel pressure from teh return line...

Instructions own joo! J/K man. Listen to wawazat8402 and FriedEGs. Looks like it's hooked up basackwards. No worries though. It's an easy enough mistake to make. Hook that thing up correctly and you'll be set.

Are you guys sure? Here is another picture. I added the colors to show you guys how its connected.

So the green are the 5/16 (7.9mm) hoses, red is the metal fuel line, 1 blue is the FPR, 2 blue is the FP Gauge, 3 blue is the FPR adapter and 4 blue would be the fuel rail. Im an artist

ok, i see the gauge is on the return line, which it should be on the infeed. the fuel in the fuel rail should flow from the back to the front. given the fuel hoses are hooked up so that the fuel flows correctly, then you should just need to move that fuel gauge to the pressure side. thats what i see from all that.... goodluck with it.

the lines on the regulator are backwards.

the bottom line is return, the middle one goes to the rail.

Oh wow are you serious?! I'll double check everything. I just replaced the OEM FP with the FPR but maybe I did make a mistake. So from what you guys are saying I have to switch everything backwards because apparently the setup is backwards right? Did it make sense? lmao

heres my nismo fpr on my 25 right after i yanked it and sold it

you can see how the middle of the FPR bolts to the rail, and the "tail" is the exit for it.

Yeah i think it is. I was told that the type A was only for the RB26 and KA24 so i got the type B. The one that i got is used if you want to relocate your FP but either way its fine. Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it. I will try and make it right tomorrow and will take new pictures (hopefully of the right setup this time LOL) and maybe even take a vid of how she purrs

since you're redoing the setup anyway, get rid of those worm clamps and get the smooth fuel hose clamps. the worm clamps chew the hose and will spring a leak if you clamp the hoses more than once.

Definitely. I bought a small packet of new hose clamps but it only brought 4 of them. Gotta go back to get more fuel injection hose and more clamps. Besides, it will look better and not to mention hold better.

Ok well I fixed it. Here are some pictures of my setup.

Now that works. I set it at 42 psi. Says its at 45 or a little over but the car was shut off. I guess you can call this a DIY since it shows you how to hook it up. Thanks for all the help guys!

^ yea those are what you need. now that you have it set up already its probably fine to just leave it. the worm clamps do chew up the hose and it WILL leak if you clamp on the same part of the hose more than once.
