problem with a popping noise under my hood?

I am having a loud popping noise from under my hood. Dealership is saying its my exhaust cooling and warming but yet it still does it when its 70 degrees outside. I can feel the pop in my gear shift. After I turn the car off, it will make one loud pop noise. Does anyone know what this is?
