03 sedan. 3 days ago i was driving with the ac on and all of a sudden A/C went full blast and buttons wasnt working. I pulled over and reseted the ECU ( by disconnecting neg. and pos. and touching them for a sec.)It fixed the problem for a minute. then about one hour later same thing happened, so i just let it blast and after like 5 min i pressed the OFF button and everything went back to normal. I was driving yesterday all day and all was fine.Did anyone encountered this problem before and know a fox to it?

thanks

Did your radio stop working too? It's a known problem with 03-04 G35.

It's a pricey fix.

WhiteyClay,

I suggest you get your radio repaired before winter. Not because of the heater, but because of your defroster.

Email me if you have any questions.

I have seen them need a circuit and/or audio unit. Having an audio specialist look at it may be worth it. If you are in good standings with your dealer you may be able to get it goodwilled, only if they can get it covered it's no guarantee.

It is a VERY bad idea to touch the positive and negative terminals together. There are many highly sensitive diodes and energy storing capacitors that can be damaged if power is fed either backwards or they are forcefully discharged.

If this happens as a temporary fix you can smack your center console where the radio is on the side and it may make it work again for a brief time. I had to do this until I finally gave up and did a DD swap. Dealer wouldn't cover my unit since I had an aftermarket alarm system mounted in the dash.....

WhiteyClay,

It’s hard to repair a unit that is working perfectly. Keep my email address handy, you will need it in the future.

SteveTheTech,

I agree with you on having an audio / stereo specialist look at that unit.

Just because someone installs radios for a living doesn’t make them an Audio Specialist.

Also never never never cross positive and negative terminals together. Stereo problems can be the least of your problems after a move like that.

I second that completely.

I have seen harnesses butchered beyond repair by installers.

There are key differences between an installer and an electronics expert. The skills required to diagnose some of these electronic components are impressive I have only seen a few people that either have the patience and tools to fix them properly.

Your company has it right, theres money in that type of work now a days.Since everyone is using intergrated AV control units and seperate audio unit displays. I would love to work on something like that but there is nothing like that in this area.

I'm not sure what you mean by model. It's from a 2004 6MT bose... silver color trim.

Anybody have any idea what this is worth? I was thinking about putting it on ebay and hoping to get $150 or so?

$150 is about the going rate for that unit. Make sure you package it well before you ship it. I've seen hundreds of units get damaged because of bad packaging.
