Alright, so i had a question about a car i found for sale on craigslist. I wont go to much into details but it is a 1990 240sx hatchback with a 1996 s14 ka24de motor. Pretty clean inside and out, only problem was i was told a bolt broke on the head which causes the header to leak. I dont know much about this part of the car, still in the process of learning but is this a big problem. I did some research and couldnt find anything related to this. I did however find something about a stud being broken on the head. Not sure if thats the same thing or not. Is this an expensive fix, time consuming, maybe a do it yourself job? Please let me know
Thanks for your time.

I had this issue on my old SOHC 240. One of the studs broke off taking the old header off. I just bolted the new one on with a new gasket and mine did not leak oddly enough. You may be able to do the same, they might have been cheap and re-used the exhaust manifold gasket. If you do that and it still leaks, best bet is to get an extractor and try and get the stud out to replace it.

It could be the stud, put also the heater core. To replace the heater core is a big job on most cars, but I don't know on your 240sx
