'94 Altima about 201,000 km. Had some minor elctrical problems last week where the wipers and radio would stop working. If I shut the engine down and started it back up again, all was fine. Then the other day, I hit a tiny dip in the road, lost the power steering and had to pull over. All the other electrical worked fine. The car now starts but runs really, really rough and will sputter and stall when I give it any gas. I've swapped in an old distributor cap, so I know that's fine. All of my fluids and filters are reasonable new. I've checked the fuel pump relay and it's drawing 6 amps which seems fine. Any suggestions?

I would jump at the second half and say the distrubutor has oil in it, but the first half suggests you have a grounding problem, which could be related to the second half.

You were certainly right about the distributor problem. It has been replaced and the car now runs fine. My problem now is that the electrical problem persists. It is only the wipers and stereo that occasionally don't work on startup. What would you suggest I look at to try and get this fixed? Obviously I'd like to fix it before it causes the distributor problem again. Thanks in advance

you wont have the distributor problem again if there was oil in it. See if you can locate the ACC relay in one of your boxs under the hood. If you can find a relay the same color as it and terminal arrangement swap it with those and see if this resolves your problem , try to use a non vital realy to swap out, like dont use the EGI,ECM,or ECCS relays as that is engine control relays.
