Hi folks, I finally found an S14 seat in good condition last night, and went ahead and bolted it in. First problem is the stock lap belt release: the one from my S13 will bolt on, but it pushes on the center console a lot. So much so that I can't really get the seat bolted in against the tunnel. I tried flipping it over, but that didn't do any good.

Do I *have* to use the S14 lap belt release? The guy wants $40 for the whole belt system, which I can't really afford right now.

Also, the chest belt retractor gets pinched when I put the seat all the way back, which doesn't allow it to retract freely. I don't have much choice in keeping the seat all the way back, I'm 6' tall.

I'd consider converting to the manual belts, but I'd really rather not hack up my pillars.

Any way to retain the original stock lap-belt release?

BTW, the seat fits perfectly, although I am more cramped leg-wise than the worn out S13 seat... nothing I can't live w/though.

I'll post up pictures maybe this weekend.

Thanks,-Jamie

I'm confused... you miss the S13 seats? For as much as people bash on them, I didn't think they were all *that* uncomfortable. They were just really beat up, metal lateral supports worn through. The S14 seat makes a better cosmetic improvement than comfort IMHO. Not to say they don't feel better, but it's a bigger improvement.

Hope that came out right.

Ok, roger that. I just the wrecked 240 in your sig had S14 seats... they weren't salvagable? Looks like you smacked a telephone pole(?).

Anyways, I'll see if this guy will part with the lap belt buckle.

Thanks.-Jamie

Odd, I dont have any problems. Euro 200sx's come stock with S14 seats, and the seatbelt buckle looks exactly like the one off my buddies S13 buckle, same rails too.

The buckles must be different. On the S13 seats, the bolt hole for the lap release is flush with the outer edge. On the S14 seat, the plastic cover(covers the slider bar release mechanism) sticks out further than this hole.
