Problem w/ 1997 Nissan Sentra P0500 code

For some reason I keep getting this code on my Sentra. It is for the vehicle speed sensor. I changed it our last week and it popped up on me again. Is there anything else that I need to be looking at?? Someont told me that there could be a loose connection on my speedo unit or slight cracks causing to lose contact. Please help me out.

Are you resetting the ECU?

Yes. It was reset before the new part was installed. The part was installed on Saturday, and the light came back on Thursday after the car had been driven for 3 days.
