problem updated, advice please!

my steering wheel on my s14 had been shaking, when i had an alignment done at sears they told me that the rack and pinion is moving with the steering wheel cuz the bushings are worn, and they want to sell me a NEW rack and pinion. cnat i just hcange the bushing? and might as well change all teh bushings right? where can i get a set?

There are several other factors to look at as well. Wheel balance/weight/round. Also look at the tension control rods and see how bad your bushings are. I replaced mine, and the vibration went away quite a bit. I also replaced my tie rods and ends and that seemed to take out more of the vibration.

bad wheel balance will do this. if you have aftermarket wheels make sure you have hub-centric rings, because if you dont you are running lug-centric which can cause bad vibrations.

well it started when i still had oem alloys and then now i just changed my tires to new ones, so i am thinking they did all the balancing correct.
