problem running

I just replaced the fuel pump in my 1996 Nissan 240SX and now it will start and run but will only run for about 2 to 4 minutes at the most and shut off then when i go to start it again it will like shut off as soon as it starts. or it will sputter a few times then quit. I have already replaced the fuel filter. right now im at a loss as to what it is. this is my only set of wheels to so any help as soon as possible will be greatly appreciated.
