Has anyone else had a recurring problem with filling your fuel tank?

Shortly after I purchased my 2005 Sedan, I noticed that I was not able to fill the car with more than 3/4 tank of gas. I mentioned this at the second dealer service and they repaired it under warranty. They replaced a faulty tank neck or something like that. Since then, I've been able to fill the tank completely.

It happened again today. I was filling the tank and the fuel stopped at 3/4 tank. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I started fueling again. I only got about a quarter of a gallon in before it stopped again.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem after the initial repair? My dealer told me (at the first repair) that they were aware of a problem with some of the fuel filler necks.

I haven't heard of it after being replaced. I'd check back with the dealer and let them know about it.

My guess is they didn't really fix it or they didn't fix it correctly. I had the exact same thing on my G coupe in Feb. '05 when I bought it. It is the sensor in the fuel tank neck that is the problem.

When I took it in a year ago they were just now finding out about this problem and the sensor/ valve was on backorder so they put a whole new gas tank on my car and I haven't had a problem since.

Take it back to the dealer for proper repairs. Let us know how it works out.

I have had problems topping mine off... On my Q I can fill it to the point that I see a little gas pooling around the nozzle (so that I know it's completely full and I can compare MPG accurately) - but if I try to top off the G, it overflows...

Probably not a problem - or the same one - but there's something fishy about this tank design...

well what they should have done the first time is replace whats called the shutter valve cause thats what causes that to happen...i'm supprised the company hasn't done somethin about it yet because it happens to the brand new 06's too.

There is a TSB out for this problem. Just drop it off at the dealer and they will take care of it..

Hope this helps..
