Problem "backing up" DVD's

Everytime I "backup DVD's that I own" I try to delete the extra menus, etc. and I increase the actual movie's quality.

I used DVD Decryter and DVD shrink, but for some reason when I play it back on my DVD player there's instances when the movie will jump like 5-10 seconds on about 3-4 different times on movies. Its been like 5 movies that has done that. I thought it may have been the speed I was using (2x), but thats the lowest I can go. Would it have anything to do with the DVD-R media type/brand that Im using?

What method do you use to "backup your DVDs"?

My freind had that problem and turns out he was using cheap crappy DVD+Rs. He ended up buy a little more expensive DVD+Rs and they were fine from then on.

yeah, what kinda media are you using?Is your PC fast enough? I have a Athlon 2.0GHz and I close all other programs to make sure the DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink run smoothly. And mine rips at 8-12x with no problem...

I didnt realize that might be the problem until I was typing that first post. I have some cheap ones, and I do mean cheap. Damn, I guess I'll have to cough up the money and buy some quality ones.

It should be, I meet the requirements for the DVD-RW drive and media. I have a Pentium 4, 2.0GHz, with 640 RAM.
