Hi to all,

I have a 93' 240sx SE coupe. The car will not go past 180km or 112mph! Do all 240sx are like that or is it governed? Does anybody know what the problem is or how to get rid of it. Its a 5-speed and it stops in 4th at 5800rpm's (redlines at 6900rpm). Please help, like to get rid of it if possible!

Thanks

There some wires you can cut in the ecu I believe or unhook some sensors on the transmissioin......things I wouldn't do to my car though. The way I'd go is getting a tuned ECU, which raises the rev limiter and gets rid of the speed limiter.

I thought the rev limiter should only drop to 5800 rpm in 5th gear only, and that the top speed should be closer to 127 mph????? I've had my '90 model 115 mph speedo buried before it gets cut off...........

They usually cut off anywhere from 112-117mph, not 127mph. But I could be wrong about that.
