Problem and need to know fast!HELP!!!

Alright So I have a 1995 240sx ka24de and just last week it was having idling problems. It through a check engine light. I pulled over on the high way.. turns out my throttle adjuster popped off.. but when I tried to put it in reverse.. it sounded like it was going to die.. I "floored" it in reverse and it chugged like a train. Drive seemed to be fine (at the time) So I went on my to do list for the day and kept it easy on it. Now since about the end of last week.. it has some times stalled out in drive and it WILL NOT go in reverse! It will simply stall when its under load in reverse..it has problems starting also these past 3 days. I went ahead and threw new plugs and a fuel filter and cleaned the dist. cap and button.. Also did a sea foam treatment.. It now starts every 1 out of 5 times I tried to start it. When I do get it going it still doesn't go in reverse and still stalls out in drive.. What should I do? Maybe a bad distributor or a cracked vacuum line? Anybody's ka do this before? is it a sensor or a relay.. I am a noob for motors.. I am just trying to get it reliably running by Saturday!
