If we are you last resort you're screwed... lol j/k

I bet you it's one of two things (if you already did plugs, wires, cap/rotor, O2 sensor etc..) it's either your AIV valve (you will not have one if it's a DOHC) or your Idle intake control valve... clean both of those and you should be good to go!

If your idle drops lower and lower and it finally dies, your exhaust is probably restricted. Check your exhaust backpressure using a gauge designed for it. Probably just a screwed up catalyst or something.

If you tried all of the obvious reasons, cap, pugs, wires, 02 sensor, etc. I might have something to do with maf, or sensor wires.

I'm surprised no one has bothered to say timing chain, base timing, gooped up throttle body, etc.

Start with timing. Check that.

My fist guess was Idle Air Contol Valve, sounds almost what my truck was doing when I had to replace that. I would also check your fuel presure. Does it still do it after the car as warmed up or just when your first start it?

That actually does sound a lot like an o2 problem....misreading and CEL is getting thrown and it's probably either running too rich or too lean and dying.

your IACV is stuck. remove it and clean it and your problem should go away.
