My car was in the garage for the last week (95 240sx), and it completely sucked. What was supposed to be just a valve cover gasket/timing chain guide removal/oil pan gasket became a set of problems, largely cause I dont have any way to hoist the engine and drop the crossmember. Anyway, I managed to get everything running by jacking up on the AC (and popped it off the mount and had to have a friend tilt the mount while i slowly lowered it to get it back on...) and working my around EVERYTHING. I finally got everything togather a few hours ago and now I don't know what the hell to think.
Idle is fine. 700 stable
clutch makes a squeak while being pressed (just as im pressing the pedal), can be heard outside as well if engine is off/quiet. possible leads are that while I had the 2 covers around the oil pan off the transmission bell housing metal plate might have spit out some fluid (some) when i pulled it forward for a split second to see its resistance.
I may have been driving the camry too long, but I feel like i hear air being sucked in somewhere but I didnt really play with any hoses....possible leads could be my pretty poor job RTVing the ditches in the valve cover, might check that later
Power steering makes a bit of a squeak when i turn the wheel now (low fluid? idk never messed with it, only thing i can think of is I got a little oil on the belts when I was under the car (not much though....)
if im going anywhere and I press the clutch (to quiet things down) I hear a clicking that is proportional to my speed, almost like plastic being hit every once in a while. Louder if i stick my head out the window, but not that loud in general. Car runs....not sure if it feels more sluggish, but ugh....
anyone have any comments? I almost feel like playing the speed bump game and seeing if jumping one fixes everything
