Does it strike anyone else as odd that you never see people with Ferraris or Lamborghinis or Maseratis posting detailing threads. It's always some guy with a random subcompact. Wow. Your Satu...sorry Vauxhall Astra is really shiny. It's still an Astra.

I don't dislike the Astra at all. But I don't get some peoples' obsession with detailing mundane cars.

idk the guy, i don't have anything against him, nor do i like f***ing with other people's cars, but nothing would satisfy me more than to see that car and nonchalantly run my key along the side. the subsequent series of emotion displayed by him would be guaranteed to be the most hilarious thing you would ever see in a lifetime.

He does all that detailing, but I can still see orange peel in that paint. Detail all you want man, you're still going to have to wet sand it!!

EDIT: yeah, I didn't read far enough. That guy needs to chill out.

That guy can probably file for disability pay...I mean that is one rather large handicap there buddy.

Should have bought a higher quality repaint and start off with a better base or simply bought a higher quality car...Though the VXR is one sweet hatch.

Even if I don't appreciate the VXR (or whatever it is), I appreciate passion about a car, and a dedicated want to make it look amazing.

I give the guy a big thumbs up. Sure, it isn't some super bad a** car (i.m.o), but it's damn clean.

I would be happy to let that guy work on my car. Sure, my car is a piece... an F-body... But it's my pride and joy. I love that car.

And here I was hoping he would have spelled it Macguyvers car wax.

As far as the VDub I'm pretty sure that's a Mk1,

Mk1 Rabbit:

Mk2 GTI:

The difference is in the headlights and the grill, the rest pretty much looks the same. Both also came with brick headlights instead of circles, but the circles look nicer.

As stupid as I think it is too detail a car to that extent, the level of dedication is just astounding.

Every tiny detail is worked on. And yes, detailing underbody pieces like the sway bars and coils is stupid, but it makes him happy and he is damned good at what he does. I wish I had that level of dedication for anything.

look at the bottom rear corner of the back side window. the mk1 is more rounded than the mk2.

You washed your car and you expect us to shower you with compliments? Kids these days, wipe their a** and think they deserve a trophy.

Suddenly I'm picturing someone detailing a car with a pack of Wrigleys, a tube of Chapstick and some Visine.

Seriously. Nala honestly it looked like all you did was wash the car/put tire shine on. Either your pictures or detailing abilities aren't great. I'm gonna go with both. I'm not the best or anything, but I do know my stuff about detailing cars. For me to do everything you listed generally takes all day including the interior as well, especially on a larger car like a qx4. That tells me you rushed through each step of the process, which leads to ultra crappy used car-lot style detailing.
