You cant use a MAF sensor from a Nissan Pulsar NX (SR20DE) in '91 Nissan 240SX-SE (KA24DE) Can you?

Actually i'm not quite sure... it was one of those "Saw it in a junkyard, it said Nissan and the plug fit so we jacked it" kindof deals... i can post a pic of the MAF but the part # off the side is this verbatem : Nissan 22680 85MOD AFH45-19 7417 (Some weird symbol) Hitachi

So my best guess is the 85 is the MODel #?

Well, lets see if this is a little better, i may be misreading it. Heres a pic of the side of the MAF chip out of its mount while the mount is being cleaned up.

In nissan parts world, 22680 means airflow meter dont matter what car. the last five designate car and revision of part [ usually] 53F means 240sx 00 is first revision. This airfolw meter may work if you can compare wiring diag between both cars and make sure they are the same terminal arrangement. Then the problem will be the chamber size allowing air to pass through, I think the key word here is velocity? speed at which air passes through the meter is determined by the size of the whole basically. May give off an unexpected reading to the ecm therfore creating fuel ratio problems.

yeah... now that i really look at the two MAF's side by side, the pulsars "throat" i guess, is actually smaller. in both the sensor itselfs hole and the main passage. and i did make a mistake on the previous post.. now that i found my glasses the part # was actually 85M00 instead of 85MOD

yea that sounds better 85M reffers to pulsar and 00 is its revision.

yeah... i was wishing it would work. but my stock MAF is dead, and the pulsars would make the 240 stop the excessively rich black smoke, but it would also shoot my RPM's up to 3000 at idle. However, to play devils advocate too, my intake manifold gasket needs to be replaced too, where the intake meets the block. but i cant seem to figure out the jedi trick to getting the thing off... i removed all the bolts as you showed another member using this diagram attached, and i disconnected all the wiring and hoses (that i can see.... at least...) and it still wont come off....

There should be a metal bracket attached next to the oil filter housning the other end of it attaches to the side of the intake manifold near where the upper and lower intake meet, usually to the lower side. held on by 2 12mm bolts at the manifold and 1 or 2 14mm bolts at the black[next to the oil filter housing]
