Couple questions, let me know what you guys think. First, I have a very little clunk or clank type of noise, and I was just wondering if it was me or not. Only when the car is in neutral, and I have the hood open...there is a very faint clunk once a minute or so. It is very faint, but bothers me because i don't know if it should be there or not.Second, when the car is running, it sounds like some fan kicks in sometimes. I make sure the air conditioning is off, but it'll turn on for a little and turn off. Is that just the cooling fan?Third, I just installed a nismo intake. It sounds awesome, and i definitely feel a power increase. However, my rpms don't rise as quickly. Like the car is definitely faster, but the rpms rise slower? Is that possible? lol

Thanks a lot guys, Zack

the clunk your probabkly hearing is your ac compressor clutch engaging or dissengaging, i dont think nissan uses wobbles plate compressors buit i may be wrong. the engine cooling fan comes on when needed, and turns off when the temp has been lowered. as for number three i have no idea. maybe they look slower cause your paying more attention? like when boiling water it takes forever if you watch it.

yes it's possible your intake lost power ont he lower end while increasing peak hp, many cars actually have baffels in the intakes that restrict air flow down low and open up as rev's climb

I know the sound you are speaking of when the car is in neutral....and if any of us left the car in neutral and listened carefully we would probably hear it. I work for Infiniti and am friends with all he techs so whenever i get paranoid about something like that i ask them. When I spoke to them about the noise they checked it out for me and said your transmission and clutch are fine the 350z and g35 coupe just have a really loud gear box and thats what you are hearing. It sounds like thats what you are hearing as well but i would get it checked out just to be sure
