I'm probably going to purchase these...

17x7.5 +30 17x8 +33

What tire size should I get with these? I don't wanna catch any cats in the fenderwells, so should get 235/45R17?

And while we're at it, what are some good slightly value-priced tires around this size (or the size you recommend)? SO far I've found:

damn u got lots of Q's today...don't get the wheels - they're staggered because they are from a rwd car, you'll be just pulling extra dead weight. get all 4 same size and put spacers in the rear. check out tire rack for shoes.

u'd also need 2+2 tires. usually cheaper to buy 4 of the same.

There are a few people on maxima.org forums that have the same set and use them happily even with the difference in rim width. I don't mind buying 2 of one size and two of another.

I just need to make sure I get the right spacers (yep I'm gonna get some), and also need to make sure I get tires that are cool with stock ride height as well as lowered (i'll be dropping both cars whenever I need to get new struts which will be soon).

I'm gonna get 'em, dammit!! :p:D

well fine then, get them! i run 17" with 245/45 and they're very close to stock height but the sidewall is pretty tall. the ones you're looking at will be nice and low but an H speed rating...low. i have Z and will go with the same next season when switching over to 240 or 235 - at least you'll be sure they won't blow at high speed.

I'm not gonna get those Korean crap tires... I'll probably pick up some falkens.... ZE-502's I think... for both cars. I won't mount these Z rims till wintertime, when both of our current sets of goodyear eagles will be shot.

I really wanna better fill out the fenderwells and get tires a bit taller than stock. So maybe with my 17's on my GXE I'll get some 225 or 235's... a profile of 50 or 55... and the 16" 5-spokes going back on my GF's GLE will get some 225 or 235 60 series.

I have 17x8" wheels at all 4 corners on my Q. On my rears, I have 255/45/17s. Fronts are 245/45/17s. Both are a great fit. For the Maxima, I think 245 should be fine for the 8 inch wheels. 235 should be great on the 7.5s. If you are going to go with the staggered wheels, you might want to consider staggered tire sizes, too. 1/2 inch difference in wheel widths and 10mm = just under 1/2 inch, so it works out nicely. 235 will work on the 8s, too, but I'd rather have more rubber than less with a summer tire.

Right before I ditched my base 3spd '00 Neon I put some General Altimax HP's on it.

Their size availability, pricing, and for-real all-season performance make them a good choice for my Maximas as well. They handle pretty darn good for an all-season, as well... better than Goodyear Assurances and Kuhmo Ectsta HP/4's which are not bad tires.

I'll buy cool summer tires next year.
