This could be a very first engine misfire I am experienced. I don't know yet until you guys tell me it is after reading my story.

Was cruising highway. Suddenly exhaust noise changed to light stutter for 10 minutes and I could feel some vibration through the gas pedal. I revved up the engine several times during that 5 minutes and the stuttering noise from the cat back and the vibration got harder (not hard enough to shake the entire car though...)And I noticed that engine temp needle went down 1/4 of a segment. After 10 minutes, vibration stopped and the engine temp needle went back up to where it used to be normally but the exhaust noise is forever changed.

Could this be an engine misfire? Or could there have been something going on in the header or something? How can I fix this?

sounds like a clogged cat that blew out. Where you from? It may not be a big deal. Is it louder now? When it happened, did the exhaust get throatier? Does the car drive fine now. Any other info would be helpful.

Thanks a lot, I am in NJ.

As for the car now, it runs fine. But cat sounds like some air is leaking. Should I call it throaty? You know that stuttering sound of air leak, right? It is not louder at all, however.

How can I find the portion blown out and fix it? Should I get a new cat back again? This is only 3-4 months old.
