Depends on the age of the car. If the car is still under warranty, the answer to your question is yes, any remainingwarranty is transferred to you. You will have to take the vehicle into a dealer to have the Infiniti records changed to show you as the current owner however.Qproject wrote:if i buy a f50 at around 40,000 miles by private party, the factory basic warranty will be automatically transfered to me right ? and if so, is the limit 80,000 miles 8 years ? or ?

Not sure offhand what the mileage/age limit is for the original factory warranty. I paid for an extended warranty when I bought my '05 Q45 from a dealer in '07. You should be able to buy an extended warranty through a dealer even if you buy the car from a private party. Opinions vary on the value of an extended warranty, but I wouldn't be without one. Repairs on a Q45 can be astronomical, and for me at least, the cost is good insurance against a catastrophic unexpected failure, especially on a used car.
Don't forget to change ALL fluids, every single one, along with all filters and have a wheel alignment and tire balance done too. And get ALL service records, from PO and Infiniti dealer (they can provide you with records of any maintenance, both warranty repairs and regular service for anything done at an Infiniti dealer)
What year is the car, and what options does it have?
Okay, I think the original factory warranty is only for 4 years or 60k miles, whichever comes first. That means the car is now out of warranty. You might want to check with your Infiniti dealer to see if they'll still sell you an extended warranty. If they will, I'd get it if it was me. If not, you may want to look for a little newer car that is still in warranty, unless the one you're looking at is especially clean, has complete maintenance records, and is an exceptionally good price. Even so, as Q45Tech recommends, I'd take it to a dealer that has a senior Infiniti technician and pay to have a complete and though inspection done. Then, if you buy it, be sure to do the fluid and filter changes. Trans and cooling system must be "flushes", not just draining and replacement of fluids.Qproject wrote:it's a 2003

Q45tech wrote:Nope the entire warranty becomes invalid when the car is totalled. Salvaged titles are specifically excluded. Many dealers won't even accept your money to work on the vehicle due to liability concerns.
We once inspected a 2000 Q that was made from 3 totalled cars...........looked pretty good but drove like a wagon quivering and undulating down the highway.
