Primera trans in 99 G20?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I'm helping my friend change the transmission in his automatic 99 G20, because there is no reverse. We picked up a JDM Primera transmission from a place in Jersey. The Primera trans has a kickdown cable, and the G20 doesn't. I'm guessing it's electric. Is there any way to make this work? Also, the US driver side axle and seal, look larger on his G20 than on the new transmission. I've read that the LSD and non-LSD axles are different, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with automatic primera transmissions, but I do know that the LSD axles are different on the driver side on all sr20 equipped vehicles. You would have to get a non lsd axle to work with the primera transmission, because from what you described it is non lsd due to the smaller axle seal.

Thanks red_det. So Ill see if we can find a non-LSD axle. The only other thing now is this kickdown cable. Anyone ever ran into this? I was thinking of running the cable to where the cruise hooks up, and just get rid of the cruise. I don't know if that would work though. Plus the cable is shot, and I don't know what other models use that cable, to get a replacement. I think we might be taking a trip back to Jersey.
