When I did mine I used an oil filter with a fitting screwed into the end, a hose attached to the fitting, and a shop vac attached to the hose. Then turned the vac on and had a friend crank the motor over with no fuel pump fuse in of course. Oil started coming out of the filter after a few seconds maybe 5 or so.

This right here:

I'd also recommend attaching a real oil pressure gauge while the motor has it's first run

To follow up on my problem of priming the engine with oil on the stand. Thank-You es.biggs :) . I tried different things to get fresh oil circulating through the engine with a 1/2" drill on the crank nut. It cranked over about 300 rpm but wouldnt pick up until I took a new oil filter and drilled the bottom to fit a 1/4" npt barbed brass hose fitting and put a piece of clear hose and rigged it up to the shop vac. (clear so i dint suck it all out unknowingly..lol)
I turned it on and and proceeded to crank the engine with the big drill, within 10 seconds I had oil flowing. I removed the "dummy" filter and put the other one on and finished displacing the oil from cranking it with the drill. I checked the turbo drains to make sure they were getting lubed. I had about 35 psi on a tempory gauge I tied into the filter housing.
I did find a leak on the left rear cam sensor and pulled it out and used black RTV gasket to hopefully seal it off. I am feeling fairly confident now knowing the engine has oil circulated through it before I even install it and put it to the "ignition" stage.

This is one excellent idea when the other ideas dint work....Thanks again es.biggs

PS. This is a 700+ hp "built engine" that I dint want to take any chances on with no oil flow before installation.
