Given the mileage and age, you are likely relegated to the "collector" car market and might do well if you were selling it in a State where they salt the roads and the vehicles are falling apart.
I just helped my daughter purchase a 1995 with 224,000 miles on it for 3900.00 but it had a brand new transmission, shocks, tires, battery and in total about 6,000.00 in documented repairs over the last three years.
It also helped that the car ran and drove like a 2 year old car rather than a 15 year old car as well as the fact that the car market in the 4,000.00 range was really tough around here. She also fell in love with the car and in essence, became a car lover rather than just a typical buyer.
Yes, I'm afraid that parting it out will bring more money than an outright sale unless you can find someone who loves it as much as you rather than just someone who wants basic transportation, good luck with the sale.
