As I said in the title, I searched but couldn't find anything.

A guy I work with just wrecked his z32 and I want to buy everything that I need for the swap off of him. I've never seen what the average price is for everything at like a salvage yard or whatever...so what should I offer him?

Thanks.

As low as you can, hahaha.

calipers themselves usually go for around 150-200.rotors are anywhere from 50-100 each pairrear calipers are more rarely bought, 100-150ebrake setup - 100-200m/c - 50-150

entire setup usually runs around 400-700, all depending on condition and luck.

And at salvage yards, it's a real hit & miss, plus salvage yards will a lot of times charge up the *** (I know the ones in my area do).

I'd say 500 would be fair for everything including the m/c.

If you know him well (or he is strapped for cash), you can probably get away w/ 300-400

I go to the ones around orange county, they want ridiculous prices for parts every time I ask them (most recently, brake booster for $100).

I really should hit up the LA ones (went to Ecology Pick a part once for misc stuff), but I'm too lazy to go up and search for something that may already well be gone (they don't usually help me much over the phone, and more than one occassion say "yea, we have it come on by" - of course it's a completely different part).

you have to be cool with the junk yard

my junk yard let's me walk around and crawl all over the place

of course it's kind scary when the junk car tilts back and forth when you pry what little treasure you found from it

by the way, the junk yard I spoke of is a street full of junk yards... about 15 to 20 of them, each with different owner. It's right by the irwandale speedway

I recently took a trip to the local NAPA. Suprisingly, they had a set of Iron Loaded 300zx calipers. They only wanted $95 per caliper. I know you all may think that is a lot, but not for what you get. They are completely re-manufactured. Sandblasted, coated, new seals, new hardware, and pads. I think it was TOTALLY worth it, because now I don't have to pay to have them cleaned, coated, new hardware (if needed), and pads.

I also picked up a set of 300zx Front and Rear Crossdrilled/Slotted rotors on eBay for about $165 after shipping. I plan on buying the rear calipers/hardware to do the 300zx brake swap for the rears too.

And the front lines I made from my local performance shop. 21 inch long -3AN SS braided lines and and custom made 90 degree bend off the caliper. All was done for about $45. So for all new/re-man items, I spent an even $400 on the dot. Not bad considering I got 30mm calipers.

Check out a thread I posted titled "New Brakes". I included pics of before and after install and included all the price. The only thing I dont mention is the 10 bucks I spent on the caliper paint.
