So as i posted earlier i had bought new rims (kazera KZ-A in chrome 18"). They cost me 400. i really love them and they look great. i had vibration/shimmy in them AFTER first getting my tires mounted and balanced at around 50 mph. However, i figured they just weren't balanced right because i didn't notice any bend in the rims. However, after one of the garage guys from infiniti drove my car he told me the shimmy was probably a balancing issue. i had them RE balanced at the infiniti dealership and later that day when my car was ready the service rep called me to tell me that 3 of my rims were bent. i must have obviously bought them that way which sucks but here i am now (gotta love craigslist + cash). I figured they couldn't be THAT bent if they actually went through with balancing the tires. If they were totally f***ed i would assume they would simply be like 'the wheels aren't worth it, you need to ditch them.' as of now the shimmy is much less but still slight at high speeds like 70+. WHAT should i do? the vibration isn't that bad, and i love the way the wheels look. am i going to mess up my car if i keep them the way they are? is it dangerous? are they worth fixing?

please help. sorry for the long post, but this was my expensive mod for the time being and i'm now very frustrated after thinking 'AWESOME i'm done spending money on my car for a few months'

Brand new? For 400 bones? I would have looked REAL close at them before buying them. I mean I am no whel expert, so it may have been hard to see with the naked eye. Sorry your having problems, but, you get what you pay for on Craigs list. Can you exchange them or return them? How long have you had them?

400 bones they were used. i examined them all they looked fine. i haven't heard back from the dealership as to how bad they are really bent but it can't be that bad. even if i need to get them repaired, i still end up having spent less than new wheels and they are. does anyone have any experience having had alloy wheels repaired for being bent (not curb rash)

Thanks
